Home / Road-safety analysis
For safety analytics and city teamsLook beyond the crash hotspot.
A collision map is a starting point. We build the interface that lets analysts compare accident records with exposure, near-miss indicators and mapped risk outputs from their existing data and models.

See a road-safety dashboard working.
Road Safety combines public European and city records with visible sources, definitions and limits. It demonstrates our interface work. It does not use SOTERIA consortium data or make a risk-prediction claim.
Keep the question and geography together
The useful view is the one that lets a safety practitioner ask a question, narrow the evidence and inspect the road segment without losing context.
Find a pattern
Compare locations, severity, time periods and road-user groups in charts and on the map.
Check exposure
Put crash counts beside estimated travel activity so busy roads are not mistaken for inherently high-risk roads.
Inspect other signals
Show supplied near-miss events or predictive outputs with their source and geographic context.
The Madrid SOTERIA work
Our first-party case describes UX research and Angular/Leaflet front-end views for the Madrid safety-intelligence prototype. The consortium produced the underlying datasets, models and project validation. Its public account describes testing with Madrid's local police.
Read the case and source links ↗Inputs before we scope
- The safety question and the people answering it
- Permitted sample data or a redacted schema for accidents, exposure and other signals
- Definitions for geography, time, road-user type and uncertainty
- The owner of the models, APIs, access rules and validation
We design and build the interface. Data collection, risk modelling and claims about safety outcomes need their own owners and evidence.
